Austin and Ty Dillon Pilot Super Late Models at Boyd's Speedway
1July 29th, 2014 - Team Dillon Racing drivers Austin and Ty Dillon were in action on Tuesday night at Boyd's Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia). In front of a record crowd at the oval, thirty-seven entries registered for battle in the $3,500-to-win, Schaeffer's Southern Nationals Series event.

Austin started his outing by posting the fastest lap in Group B of time trials to earn a spot in the dash. He finished second in the dash to lock into the outside-front-row alongside Randy Weaver for the 35 lap finale. In the feature Austin ran second for much of the race, but with five to go he slipped back to fourth where he would finish behind race winner, Randy Weaver, Chris Madden, and Ronnie Johnson.

Ty timed in ninth in his group during qualifications, sending him to a b-main. He raced to a fourth place finish in the b-main earning him the nineteenth starting spot on the feature grid. In the 35 lap main event Ty looped his #41 entry on lap ten to draw the race's first caution. He rejoined the tail of the field before retiring on lap eighteen to a 23rd place finish.

Ryan Gifford was also in action in the Crate Late Model division. He won his preliminary heat race to lock into the third starting spot for the feature. Ryan battled at the front of the pack throughout the main event before crossing the finish line in second behind race winner, Bryan Pritchard.
