The opening round of the 5th Annual Winter Freeze boosted a $5,000 top prize for competitors as thirty-four entries registered for the unsanctioned event. The team would battle the handle on McDowell's #17m Bad Boy Buggies/Warrior Race Cars entry throughout the night. After failing to qualify for the feature via time trails Dale was forced to run a b-main where a third place finish earned him the fifteenth starting spot on the feature grid. McDowell retired early from the main event to a 22nd place finish.

Friday night saw the winner's check increasing to $10,000 as the World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series kicked off their 2015 season. Thirty-two entries converged on the 3/8 mile oval and a second place finish in his heat race send McDowell to the redraw for the 50 lap finale. Dale received the fifth starting spot for the main event but slipped to a twelfth place finish in the final rundown.

Ahnna Parkhurst competed in the Crate Late Model ranks a Screven Motor Speedway on Friday night. Despite missing her qualifying lap, Parkhurst charged forward from her 23rd starting position in the feature to register a solid ninth place finish at the checkered flag.

Saturday night's Winter Freeze finale also boosted a $10,000 top prize for competitors, and thirty-three entries would return for battle. Dale failed to transfer into the main event through his heat race and would have to run a b-main, where a second place finish locked him into the 19th starting spot for the 50 lapper. McDowell retired early in the feature to a 23rd place finish.
