Top 5 Finish for McDowell in Firecracker 100; Parkhurst Places 6th in FUEL Event at Modoc

June 25th, 2016 - Team Dillon Racing headed to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Thursday with Dale McDowell behind the wheel for the 10th Annual Firecracker 100. With the weather postponing the opening night of preliminary events to Saturday, Friday kicked off the two-day show with a $6,000-to-win A-Main. After recording the fastest time in a stout field of fifty Super Late Models, Dale edged his way into the feature with a 3rd place finish in his heat.  Holding his starting position for all 30-laps, McDowell recorded a 13th place finish.

On Saturday afternoon Dale stormed to the front from his 3rd place starting spot scoring a heat race win. Slated to start 8th, Dale McDowell gained one position registering a 7th place finish.

Later that night with an inside second row starting position in his heat, Dale posted a runner-up finish behind Scott Bloomquist earning him a 3rd place starting spot for the $30,000-to-win A-Main. Waiting until the lap 17 to take the top spot, McDowell led the following 37 circuits until race winner Scott Bloomquist passed him on lap 54. Also on Saturday night Ahnna Parkhurst was pulling double duty at Modoc Raceway (Modoc, South Carolina) competing in her Crate Late Model and the CT 525-engine Late Model. In a field of nineteen cars for the Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series (FUEL), Parkhurst placed 7th in the Modoc Showdown A-Main after starting 6th. In the Crate Late Model division, Ahnna posted the 5th fastest time in qualifying but got spun out early in her feature. Coming from the tail, Ahnna Parkhurst battled her way back to a 6th place outing.
