Austin Dillon Competes with American Ethanol Tour at Tri-City Motor Speedway

August 28th, 2016 - Behind the wheel of the Dow-Dow Corning #3 Super Late Model, Austin Dillon made the trip to Tri-City Motor Speedway (Auburn, Michigan) on Wednesday night competing in the American Ethanol Late Model Tour. Drawing a stout field of 46 entries, Austin posted the fastest time in qualifying putting him 5th on the starting rundown for his heat. Transferring the Top 3, Dillon held his position sending him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 2 into the $4,000-to-win main event, Austin scored a runner-up finish behind Travis Stemler earning him the 21st-starting position for the feature. Breaking into the Top 10, Austin Dillon charged through the field 15 spots in the 40-lap feature registering a 6th place finish.

On Friday night Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing visited Merritt Speedway (Lake City, Michigan) for the two-day World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series special event. In a field of 40 Super Late Models, McDowell followed up the quickest time overall in qualifying with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Earning the 9th-stariting spot for the feature, Dale came one position short of a Top 5 finish with a 6th place outing.

After the second night of the Keyser’s Great Lakes Shootout was postponed to Sunday afternoon, Ahnna Parkhurst traveled to Modoc Raceway (Modoc, South Carolina) on Saturday night competing in the Crate Late Model division. Dealing with motor problems early in the event, Parkhurst fought off a tight setup in the feature to record a solid 10th place finish.

Returning on Sunday for the $10,000 top prize, Dale McDowell logged a 6th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 3 into the main event, Dale was an early retiree from the 10-lap consolation event but earned a provisional into the A-Main. Moving up five positions in the 50-lap feature, Dale McDowell registered an 18th place outing.
