Dale McDowell Competes in Knoxville Nationals; Ahnna Returns to Senoia

September 17th, 2016 - Piloting the Team Dillon Racing/Sweet Bloomquist Race Cars #17m Super Late Model, Dale McDowell traveled to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday for the 13th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores. In a field of 69 Super Late Models, McDowell was running in 3rd in his heat race looking to transfer into the opening A-Main until suffering some engine trouble with 2 laps to go forcing him retire from rest of the night’s events.

Rebounding on Friday night, McDowell improved five positions in his heat edging his way into the feature with a 3rd place finish. Starting in 8th for the $7,000-to-win preliminary feature, Dale passed four cars in the 25-lapper posting a 4th place finish behind Josh Richards, Jimmy Owens, and Shannon Babb with Mike Marlar coming in 5th.

Sitting in 3rd after taking your best night of two rounds preliminary action, McDowell rolled off 3rd for the $40,000-to-win A-Main. After battling in the Top 10 for most the feature, Dale fell back to a 22nd place outing when the checkers flew. (Heath Lawson Photo)

During the same night in her Team Dillon Racing #23A Crate Late Model, Ahnna Parkhurst visited Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia). Timing in 9th fastest in a field of 20 cars, Parkhurst earned the 9th-starting position for her feature.  Hanging on to a Top 10 finish, Ahnna landed a 9th place outing.
