Ahnna Parkhurst Captures $2k Victory at Modoc Raceway

June 25th, 2017 - After Mother Nature axed the opening two nights of the Firecracker 100, Dale McDowell was one of 45 Super Late Models signed in at Lernerville (Speedway Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Saturday for one round of preliminary features and the $30,000-to-win finale. Transferring the Top 4 out the heats and into the A-Main, Dale edged his way with a 4th place finish. Starting in 13th, McDowell completed one lap of the 30-lapper until heading into the infield pit area with apparent mechanical troubles. He was credited with 26th place outing.

Later Saturday night after the crew worked to get the #17M fixed, Dale followed up the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group with a 4th place finish in his heat race. Sunday evening saw Shane McDowell Racing pilot Ahnna Parkhurst in action in her Crate Late Model at Modoc Raceway (Modoc, South Carolina) for the $2,000-to-win feature. Laying down the fastest time overall in a field of 11 cars, Parkhurst earned the pole position for the A-Main. After jumping out to the lead early, Ahnna held off a late race charging following a caution to pick up her third win of the season over Cla Knight, Matt Henderson, Josh Bishop, and Cole Godowns.
