“Qualifying was key tonight, to get a jump on things,” McDowell said in Victory Lane. “The competition level is unbelievable, and things are really tight, so to get to the winner’s circle on back-to-back weeks means a lot. Shane [McDowell] continues to work really hard on the car to make sure that we can continue to be a contender every time that we hit the track.

“Thanks to all of my sponsors, and we’ll head onto the next one.”

On Friday evening Dale McDowell followed the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama), where he was piloting the E-Z-Go Golf Carts #17m Super Late Model entry. In a field of 29 cars, Dale recorded the fastest time in his qualifying group, positioning him on the front row for the opening night feature.

Jumping into the lead on the drop of the green flag, McDowell led wire-to-wire en route to his second win of the season, which came over Donald McIntosh, Tanner English, Joseph Brown, and Austin Horton. He collected a $10,000 payday for his dominant performance in the 40-lapper.

On Saturday night at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia), McDowell secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win finale with a second-place finish in his heat race behind Austin Horton. Starting fifth on the grid, Dale gained one spot in the 60-lap affair to finish fourth behind Chris Madden, Jimmy Owens and Michael Page with Ashton Winger coming in 5th.

Dale holds a 26-point lead over Donald McIntosh in the latest Spring Nationals point standings. Full results from these events are available at
