Top-5 finish in USA Nationals finale at Cedar Lake Speedway
August 3, 2019 - Thursday night found Shane McDowell Racing and Dale McDowell in action at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) kicking off the 32nd annual USA Nationals. With 45 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries on hand for the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, McDowell recorded the seventh fastest time in his group before placing 3rd in his heat. Starting the opening night feature in 9th, Dale gained four spots reeling in a 5th place finish behind Jonathan Davenport, Brian Birkhofer, Tyler Bruening, and Tim McCreadie.

Returning on Friday for two rounds of heat races, Dale gained one spot in his first heat scoring a runner-up finish behind Brian Shirley. Jumping up one spot in his second heat to place 6th, McDowell sat 15th overall in total points locking him into Saturday’s main event. With $50,000 on the line in the main event on Saturday evening, Dale McDowell advanced through the field 10 spots in the 100-lap affair to place 5th behind Chris Madden, Tim McCreadie, Brandon Sheppard, and Ricky Weiss.
