1September 22nd, 2012 - Dale concluded a great weekend on Saturday night by completing a sweep of the Winchester 200 at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia). Forty-two Super Late Models entered the event, and the field was divided into two, $1,000-to-win qualifiers. McDowell claimed the win in his qualifier to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for the $8,000-to-win feature. As the race went green he won the drag race to turn one and would never look back on his way to the win, which came over D.J. Myers, Jason Covert, Kenny Moreland, and Austin Hubbard. Dale also received a $2,500 bonus for being a first time winner of the event to bring his weekend total to $15,000.

“That will certainly make the ride back home to Georgia pretty nice.” McDowell, who debuted a new MasterSbilt Race Car for Team Dillon Racing, said of his weekend’s earnings. “I knew we had a good race car and it was important to beat (Myers) into the first turn at the start, and we were able to do that.

“This has been a great weekend. To come here this weekend with a brand new race car and win every race we were in, just shows what a great team we have in TDR racing.”
