McDowell fifth in Deep Fried 75 opener; suffers major wreck in finale at Duck River
With the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series in the Volunteer State, Dale McDowell and his team rolled into Duck River Raceway Park (Shelbyville, Tenn.) for the Deep Fried 75 weekend.
With 34 Late Models signed in for the $5,000-to-win opener, McDowell started fourth in the 30-lap feature and wound up fifth.
For Saturday's $20,000-to-win finale, McDowell finished runner-up in his heat race which landed him on the third-row for the 75-lap main event. Stalking Ashton Winger for the first 40 laps, McDowell briefly took the lead before contact with Winger sent both cars into the wall. Dale pulled off the track and was scored 18th.
